That Drama Rebel

Chinese dramas are a whole nother ballgame. Dramas range from 50-70 episodes most of the time, so be prepared to give them a few more days than you would a typical Korean drama. When it comes to Chinese dramas, I find I am more a fan of the historical and mythical ones, as long as it has a happy ending, but don't worry, I've added a few contemporary to the list that are top notch. 1. Eternal Love aka Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms - Not to be confused with The Eternal Love, this drama is a mythical historical drama set in the heavenly realm and on earth. From the costume, acting to set design, you will definitely fall in love with all the characters in this drama. I seriously binged a bunch of shows just so I could keep seeing them after this show ended. 2. Viki aka Rakuten Viki - I wasn't sure if I should make Viki number 1, but, they have a huge library of shows and movies Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese and some from the Philippines as well. You can watch shows for free with a healthy side of ads that might get frustrating if you're wired that way, you can also choose to pay if Ads drive you nuts, I paid to save me time. Viki also has a timed comments section, ratings and reviews. The first time I watched Viki, I had to turn the comments section off, but honestly now, I live for the comments section, it just elevates the whole process. I got introduced to Korean dramas about 3 years ago by a dongsaeng(little sister), she was visiting for July 4th and asked me to give the dramas a try. Asides from the endless kids shows my overlords make me watch, the only other shows I watch consistently are Asian dramas. As a matter of fact I think everyone should watch them too and here's why 1. Its a shorter time suck   - this is a particular beauty of most Asian dramas, Most dramas are only one season (unless the fans get lucky or someone's greedy). In Korea, the format is typically a 16 episode drama shown once a week for a quarter or 50ish episodes shown daily. So while the story line is captivating like most dramas are, the hold Asian dramas have on you will last a quarter at the longest or a few hours if you like to binge watch the whole thing at once like me. For me this means, I am able to get things done in between dramas like write this blog or check up on the tiny overlords. I also don't understand y'all's ability to wait in between seasons for shows like Grey's Anatomy, Young or whatever else runs for years. I simply don't have the patienc...
